- My first name is actually “Joel”. Erik is my middle name, it’s a family tradition.
- I have been cage diving in South Africa with Great White Sharks. Amazing!
- When I graduated high school I was 5’9” and 115 pounds. (Currently 6’3”, 220lbs)
- One word: Golf
- If I had to pick one style of music to listen to the rest of my life it would be Bluegrass.
- Two words: Mexican Food
- I taught my first Sunday School class when I was in third grade. Topic: John 3:16.
- I fell in love with Pavarotti at age 3. I was also blessed to attend his farewell tour.
- I am the grandson of a Sharecropper. He was a Choctaw Indian.
- I am one of six kids….one biological brother, three adopted sister and one brother.
- I prefer tea to coffee.
- Starting in third grade, I prayed for God to let me marry a red head. He did, she’s beautiful.
- My wife + my dogs + fireplace + a book = Happy
- The first concert I attended was Carman.
- I played hockey for 15 years. Go Redwings!
- My beard grows an inch a month. I grow it from October through March. My wife loves it and cries when I shave it.
- I mow the lawn to relax.
- I would choose the mountains over the beach.
- “No-bake” cookies…..I’m just saying.
- I have never watched an episode of Seinfeld. (unintentionally, I just haven’t.) Conversely, I have never missed an episode of LOST!
- If it’s outdoors I like to do it…..golf, wakeboarding, snowboarding, hunting, fishing, bocce, yard work, hiking, boating, chillin’, etc., etc.
- I floss my teeth regularly.
- I like to work with and train dogs and their humans.
- The first song I sang in public was “A Spoon Full of Sugar” from Mary Poppins.
- I wake up at 5:00A.M. while the Tour de France is on so I can watch it live from France.
